CLIENT OBJECTIVES - In anticipation of the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, the Korean Ministry of Culture sought to consolidate a series of smaller museums and galleries spread throughout the City into a National Museum of Contemporary Art within a large recreational site outside of Seoul’s urban center. The new location and facilities would allow for Korea’s arts to be showcased to the world, as well as the continuing growth of the collections and expansion of international and domestic programs.
