CRITIQUE - "By
grounding the Museum in Korean tradition as well as Western
innovation, Kim has created a powerful symbol for a country
caught between the two. Though the building, like the
terraces, is rendered in local pink granite, its three
smooth-faced volumes shun traditional Korean ornamentation
in favor of strong, abstract geometry. The stateliness
of the exterior is reflected inside by a clearly defined
spatial hierarchy."
