GREATER HARTFORD ACADEMY OF THE ARTS - The Academy offers professional training in music, theater, dance, creative writing, film and television, and visual arts. It ranks among the top performing-arts U.S. high schools, attracting students from more than 40 school districts. It consists of a 125-seat recital hall, black box theatre and a full complement of instrumental music, dance and art studios. There is a separate, 650-seat, proscenium theater, with backstage support and production areas, for teaching and use by professional and visiting artists. The two-level, naturally lit theater lobby serves as gallery space for the Academy.
