GREATER HARTFORD ACADEMY OF MATH & SCIENCE - The Academy provides a program for 300 students from 13 Greater Hartford school districts to participate in courses designed to extend beyond the standard advanced-placement curriculum. In an open environment fostering informal interchange, it combines academic content with problem solving skills in an integrated, interwoven curriculum. There are lab-based facilities for Electronics, Engineering, Robotics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Integrative Biology, Environmental Science, Physics, Astronomy and Distance Learning. This “suite” of spaces for the sciences fosters both individual investigation and the multi-disciplinary collaboration that is increasingly at the core of new scientific research and learning.
