CONCEPT - The University’s
original master plan suggested a central green on axis
with the campus entrance. Over the years, however, buildings
became scattered along the edges of the green of this
modern campus. Our concept brought cohesion to the campus
by reinforcing the central axis and anchoring the green
with the Center as a focal point. The U-shaped Center
encloses the north end of the green, terminating the
central axis at the library, the heart of the institution.
The two wings extend to create strong links to Hartt
School of Music and Hartford Art School.
