| DESIGN
- The L- shaped building is organized into three
distinct elements: a firehouse, an ambulance garage, and
a community hall. Each has its own specific street presence,
but the common facade treatment allows each function to
gracefully transition into the next. The low-wrap around
wall at the corner suggests the porch of a grand home,
fronting a central pitched roof structure. To further
contrast the "porch" with the "house"
behind it, the forward screen wall is of a deep red brick
while the community hall behind uses a lighter, red-toned
brick.
