OVERVIEW - The first new 84,000 sq.ft. school built by the Town of West Hartford in 30 years was our 6th project for the town in as many years. Bristow middle school for grades 6-8, is located in a neighborhood which is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is a tight site for a middle school with frontage on parallel streets. Our design for the school preserves and incorporates the original 1900 craftsman-style Shepard house designed by Edward T. Hapgood.
