CONCEPT - The master plan calls for some off-site improvements restoring the site’s physical and symbolic connections to the city and its immediate surroundings. These connections entail: a new access to the Riverfront Park; more pedestrian friendly surrounding streets; and a memorial traffic circle. The circle, with a monument honoring the 40 years of Elizabeth Colt’s leadership of the Colt industries, provides a visual orientation point between the site and downtown, as well as a new road spur toward the riverfront.
