CLIENT OBJECTIVES - Recognizing that a higher quality of student life would be realized through smaller residential quadrangles, each with their own dining facilities and variety of spaces for student services and activities, the College sought to implement a new residential system advanced by the president of the college in 1997. We began in 1998 with programming services for the first Commons. The goals of the Commons system were to provide a smaller and more supportive environment for students by creating more venues for intellectual and social activities within the residential environment, and to encourage upperclassmen to continue to live on campus.
