CLIENT OBJECTIVE - For community development reasons, the City asked our firm to combine the local public branch with the new school library. We designed the building to proudly face Main Street with a 5,920 sq. ft. library that serves both the school and the surrounding community. The benefits resulted in both operational efficiencies as well as opportunities to bring the students and the adult community together in a learning environment to share reading and other educational activities. The glazed curtain wall along Main Street fills the library with natural light and invites the community to explore the book stacks and to use computers that are available throughout the day and evening.
