Tai Soo Kim Partners has changed its name to TSKP STUDIO. The firm is rolling out the new name with its new look to clients and colleagues within the A/E/C industry throughout the fall of 2016. The new identity, TSKP STUDIO is a reflection of the way in which the partnership has evolved into a collaborative partnership of multi-talented professionals.
The new name and graphic identity is conveyed through a logotype that embodies the firm’s values – Simplicity, Balance, and Continuity. The ‘TSKP’ portion of the new name is already used by the firm as an acronym for Tai Soo Kim Partners. The word ‘STUDIO’ accurately describes the firm’s workspace where design concepts are openly debated and explored, using both traditional and emerging tools This combination of ‘TSKP’ and ‘STUDIO’ is a reminder of the firm’s roots, and an acknowledgment that the practice of architecture is experiencing rapid changes in process. The process is now an integrative and collaborative design effort of different skill sets required to achieve the best results.
The 30-person firm has its roots in a firm founded by Tai Soo Kim in 1970 in Hartford Connecticut. Over the past 40 years that firm has evolved into a partnership, formalized in 1991. That partnership remains unchanged and consists of Tai Soo Kim, FAIA; T. Whitcomb Iglehart, AIA; Randall Luther, AIA and Ryszard Szczypek, AIA. What has changed over time is the way in which the partners share the work with each other and with the younger professionals within the firm.
